Heating plant, Karviná
(ISO 100, f8 @ 25mm, 25sec., 18:56) This place is close to Ostrava, a city with a rich industrial past in the north-east of the Czech Republic. Fellow photographer Vratislav Indra invited me to join him on a tour there. Thanks again mate.

Gravel depot, conveyor belts and warehouse
(ISO 100, f8 @ 25mm, 30sec., 23:51) I remember that I almost passed by this place but an endless row of railway cars attracted me to take a closer look. The ground around it was one huge puddle from the recent rain and despite it was almost midnight there were still some trucks queuing for their turn to get in. The closest one had his radio on and believe it…

Box No. 1
(ISO 100, f8 @ 25mm, 15sec., 23:10) This is the entrance area of the limestone mine of my previous upload. I never experienced a place which was so immersed in dust. The dust was everywhere. A fine dust which literally got inside of me. I wonder what it must be like in the day time when people are working in this place.

Three flood light poles and the moon
(ISO 100, f2.5 @ 25mm, 2,5sec., 22:32) This is the harbour of an open-pit limestone mine. In the distance you can see the chimneys of the old processing plant. It was late May and very slowly getting dark. While focusing I heard some strange noises from an animal in the distance. It turned out it was a single swan doing his rounds in the canal.

This might get ugly #4
(ISO 200, f8.0 @ 35mm, 30sec., 23:39) This place might look like an American army base but in reality it is the elaborate setting of a venue for all sorts of events. It was quite a warm night with an exceptional unremarkable sky. The clouds were so even, they were hardly visible and the light pollution from the nearby airport made it look kind of unreal.
